Thanks to the support of Stichting 3E, Carina Engström, PhD candidate at TU Delft, had the opportunity to attend the IEEE International Symposium on Power Electronics for Distributed Generation Systems (PEDG 2026) in Valparaiso/Viña del Mar, Chile. At the conference, she presented her work on load voltage quality limits in standalone converters under unbalanced and inductive loading. The study focuses on three-phase four-leg inverters operating in standalone mode while supplying realistic residential-type loads. The results show that voltage quality measured at the converter output can appear well regulated, while significant degradation may still occur at the load terminals. This highlights the importance of evaluating standalone inverter systems not only at the converter side, but also from the perspective of the connected loads. The conference provided a valuable opportunity to discuss distributed generation systems with international researchers and to receive feedback on the practical relevance of the work.
