My name is Leonardo Bolzonella and I’m a PhD student at the University of Delft. This October, I had the opportunity to present my paper, titled “Medium Frequency Transformer Optimization and Insulation Testing for Solid State Transformer Applications”, at IECON 2025 Conference in Madrid, Spain. As one of the flagship conferences organized by the Industrial Electronics Society, IECON gathered over 1400 participants from all over the world to discuss advancements in Power Electronics and their role towards a more sustainable future.

It was a great opportunity to meet talented and knowledgeable researchers and students in the field, and to receive valuable feedback and insightful discussion on my work from experts in the sector.  It was an honor to participate, and inspiring to feel part of the research community.  I am grateful to Strichting 3E for their support in making this experience possible, and for enabling me to share and further develop my research on an international stage.
